banho de um sol
I created “banho de um sol” as a gift and honor to Nátaly Neri. I initially go to know Nátaly through her Instagram page, where I soon found out she was a very inspiring person. I based this drawing on one of her pictures, and later on I adjusted it to my view, as I was looking to create a piece that transmitted an inspiring feeling just as the one she passes. I created the space she is in, changed the colors and theme of the scene, and focused on a warmer color palette, as I wanted to give an idea of calmness and beautiful day. Finally, I presented her this drawing, and I’m very proud of its results until this day.

Still Going
I created “Still Going” for an art competition I participated. The prompt was to show how one could stand still and keep going even at most difficulties. I centered my drawing in what I believe would be a re-reading of a Greek-like work of art, but this time focusing on a different theme: Black Brazilians being able to ‘achieve’ or have access to education, and to properly finalize it. In Brazil, black people have around 10% less access to a higher education than white people do; and from those who are able to obtain it, there is still a 43.3% chance of stagnant inconclusion, due to economic and social inequalities. It is basically a battle to go through only to be educated; only to have the bare minimum. I believed “Still Going” would pass on this image as an adult woman is holding a pencil, a chance, while surrounded by chains and judgment- as represented by the red pointed “speech bubbles” around her- Doing her best while everything is against her. Messaging to keep persisting even at the most difficulty.

soleil
I created soleil inspired in a Namoradeira. Namoradeira is a woman-like doll put at windows in Sao Luís - city I live in. Initially, Namoradeiras were used to try to scare off burglars, by appearing as if there was someone in the house, but with time, they became much more of an element inherit and part of our culture and common day life. Today, Namoradeiras are used simply as the city's decoration and ornament, and we use them in our houses much more because of the value we learned that they have. Namoradeiras are also passed on in families, and the specific one I drew has the name of: Marajó dos Santos.

Ycro- 1001 Jogos
This piece was created in honor of a small Northeastern Brazilian content creator. Called Ycaro, I created this piece simply to honor all the hard work and persistence I believe this « gamer » would put into his job, and for all the moments he shared with his small community who supported him as a creator. I tried to put in the drawing a compilation of all of the games he played which I believed were the best ones. From left to right, we have: Minecraft, Among Us, The Entitle Goose Game, Fall Guys and many more. I tried using in this composition different techniques, such as Mandala Art and its geometric repartition- used in dividing the characters face in many facets of the games he played; and also the Chromatic Circle itself- using a variety of colors and specific differences in each apportioned character-slice, besides a combination of bright and dark tons, to give it dynamism and proportion.

We Wait
I created “We wait” as a way of protesting the inequalities suffered by women in not only Brazil, or America, but the whole World. The drawing sends a simple message, which any person can understand: We wait. As we’ve waited for hundreds and hundreds of years before us. We wait for equal payment and equal access to education, which in Brazil marks a difference of 18% among white woman and man, and of 33% among black women and man. We await for proper tribute and dignity owned to our bodies, which in India 23,000 women were raped and violated in 2012. We wait even for basic life and health conditions, which according to WHO- the World Health Organization- 468 million women still don’t have proper access to it. We Await. Patiently for each and every single one of our rights. To be counted, to be listened, and seen. We wait. To be Respected and Accepted, We await.
Since this piece’s creation it’s been transformed in my different objects. From signs, to banners, stickers and even flyers, different girls and friends of mine have used and shared it, sometimes for 24 or 42 hours, at their own social medias and ways. I’m most definitely really proud of this piece.

Raising Memories
Raising memories is a piece I created to present myself with an image board containing maybe all the obvious reasons I took when deciding to be part- and take part- in art, and the animation industry. In this piece, I collected a number of iconic cartoons and characters who marked my childhood and that lead me to want to be a designer, and actually live by art and pursue a job as an animator, storyboard artist and illustrator. In this piece, we have remarkable cartoons such as Finn from Adventure time, we have Over the Garden Wall, PB, Marceline, Regular show, Irmao do Jorel and so on. Lastly, I put myself in the middle- the brown haired girl wearing a yellow hoodie -as a sign of belonging with all of these creations. I put myself in the middle of them because I believe I see who I am today as a result of all of these characters' stories, teachings and arcs. And it’s maybe because of all the characters contained on this board, that I feel so welcomed and loving by being part of the art community and creating work in it.

Noite de Bumba meu Boi
Noite de Bumba Meu Boi is a piece I created to honor my city’s annual dance and cultural festival which celebrates happiness, hope and the union of all people. The festival is a tradition more than 200 years old, and it is a precise cut of my culture’s heritage and mores. This drawing takes place at a night of Sao Joao. There's two people dancing on the front- One wearing Bumba Meu boi’s specific traditional clothing and another wearing the « ox's brain » also known as costume which imitates the ox present in the legend which inspires the festival. At the back, we have different characters dancing and varied elements- such as fires, happiness and an abundance of colors- just as there is in the festival. There are small flags in the air, which represent the festivity's ornaments and decoration, and we also have small wood-houses or cabins, which sell food, corns, and other typical and regional cuisine.
Bumba meu boi is one of my states most important touristic attractions, and is of extreme importance to all of our people.

PoP Art Menina + Aquarela
Pop Art Menina + Aquarela is a work of mine I like for various reasons. Even though one of them is because I had the chance to use it in a small local competition, the most important one is because «Pop Art Menina + Aquarela » was my first completed digital work ever finalized, and it marked the period in which I actually received resources to deepen myself into the graphic and illustrational world. In it, I used a combination of three Artistic styles, being them Pop Art, Watercolor and Digital Art.
I used strong colors, a wide and strongly defined expression and a woman as being the main character’s piece to represent Pop Art's influence and its most noticeable characteristics . For Her face, I used the technique of watercolor, and the drawing as a whole was created digitally. This work is marked by heavily defined strokes, solid and light colors and a deep purpose of expression obtained by intertwining different artistic fields this way reaching even higerly satisfying outcomes.

Menia as Madoka
Menia as Madoka is a work I created in honor to Menia- a social media administrator of one of my favorite geek and cosplay pages. I created this piece principally due to a challenge elected by her where she’d dress herself as the best drawing someone made of her. What instantly came to my mind was the anime Madoka, and the Victorian-like dresses and style this anime would hold. I created "Menia as Madoka" with a simple purpose of interacting and playing with different ideas while helping a small content creator, but unexpectedly I created a drawing I actually like very much. In The drawing, besides the very noticeable Victorian dress the character is using, we also have different small accessories and additions, which bring much more life into the piece. We have a universe deep future characteristic of the anime- and the influencer Menia in the piece, while posing as Madoka Kaname.
